Temporal dynamics of the origin of commercially important fish species in the Nasva River and Lake Mullutu-Suurlaht
Abstract
The Mullutu-Suurlaht system is known to be one of the most important freshwater spawning and nursery areas for anadromous fish in the northern Gulf of Riga. At the same time, it is subject to both commercial and recreational fishing activities, the effects of which are largely unknown. The aim of the project is to identify the spatio-temporal dynamics of the occurrence of different types (freshwater and anadromous) of commercially important fish species in Lake Mullutu-Suurlaht and the Nasva River. The results of the project will enable informed and sustainable management of local fish stocks.
