Modeling to Reality: Can physics-based MULtiSCALE modeling explain soft actuators?
Abstract
In the MrMUSCLE, project I aim to develop a multiscale model that explains actuation in artificial muscles, with high potential in future medical technologies. The project tackles three key gaps: the lack of reliable force fields for ionic layering, the absence of predictive actuator models, and the simulations-experiments disconnect. The project will employ multiscale simulations (DFT, MD, FEM) and experimental validation to fill these gaps and enable designing biocompatible ionic liquid-carbon-based actuators.
