Enhancing capability of autonomous observations in the coastal zone in Estonia.
Abstract
In Estonia, autonomous monitoring of marine systems has been developed over the last few decades, but what is missing is the ability to measure and map water properties with an autonomously controlled device (robot) in shallow areas. In this project, a micro-glider suitable for our sea conditions will be acquired and set up, which is capable of operating in the shallow sea on a given trajectory and depth. The micro-glider will be tested in Pärnu Bay and/or some other sea area, and the possibilities of using this platform in the Estonian monitoring system will be demonstrated.
