Sociocultural perception of biodiversity landscapes
Abstract
Biodiversity loss and habitat degradation are priority issues in the European Union. Preserving natural species richness in the heritage cultural space is the prerequisite to ensuring human well-being. This can be done in collaboration with the creators of culture, considering their local ecological knowledge. This project examines the socio-cultural impact of support measures within the framework of agricultural and environmental support schemes. We will explore how stakeholder narratives contribute to creating a positive image of a sustainable future and reducing environmental conflicts. For this purpose, we will organise co-creation seminars, interviews, and questionnaire surveys with several stakeholder groups. The project's output introduces a pluralistic idea of sustainable use of nature and co-created land use knowledge. This would increase the self-esteem of the local people and thereby increase the contribution to preserving biocultural diversity sustainable development.
