Marine Litter in the Small Islands of Estonia, 2024-2026
Abstract
The project focuses on marine litter mapping in remote areas. Within project 14 small uninhabited small islands in the coastal waters will be revisited and fieldwork will be conducted similarly to previous study that was carried out in 2019 and 2020. The presence of macrolitter, mesolitter and microlitter as well effect on biota will be estimated. The results give feedback on changes in marine litter load and the gained information will increase the public awareness on marine litter related issues.
