Playful Media Education in Kindergartens and the First Stage of School
Abstract
This project aims to develop and implement a course offering a comprehensive overview of children's media worlds, opportunities, and risks. A blend of theoretical and practical game-based approaches equips educators with essential skills and knowledge to guide children in navigating (social) media. Specifically targeting teachers working with 5-10-year-old children in Russian-speaking kindergartens and the first stage of primary schools, the course fosters media literacy and digital citizenship, addressing current needs in Estonia's media education system and supporting the broader transition to Estonian-language education.
