Mapping research capacity and development needs of Kenyan universities to implement educational reforms
Abstract
The main objective of the research is to map the research capacity of Kenyan universities offering teacher education and to identify the main challenges in the development of evidence-based teacher education. Representatives of Kenyan universities are involved in the data collection and analysis of the project, using the members of the Deans' Forum of universities offering teacher training, which allows during the process of conducting the study to support the growth of the research capacity of the representatives of these universities and to collect important information for planning further development activities. The focus of the research is the willingness and ability of universities to implement competency-based learning and support teacher preparation according to an evidence-based approach.
