All inorganic semi-transparent thin film solar cells for solar windows and indoor photovoltaics
Abstract
The emergence of new applications in the society requires design of materials and devices with advanced set of properties. At this scale, for a new PV technology it is insufficient to be only competitive with the current technologies in performance and reliability, but it should also be green, environmentally friendly and comprise earth abundant materials, providing long term sustainability, recyclability and rapid scale-up. In this context our RD ambition is to develop and deliver set of innovative absorber materials with ideally matched wide bandgap to low illumination environments and infrastructure and capable for providing significant power in various formats. This will ensure a broad range of applications in society with more opportunities for low capital costs (low CO2 emission), low barrier for entry scale up processes of the emerging TF PV technologies capable of powering IPV/IoT devices and adaptable for integration in PV windows and related BIPV products in Estonia and EU.
